What
is Indiana YAC?
The Indiana Young Agents Committee is a group of young
Independent Insurance Agents and independent agent
carriers who are members and associate members of the
Independent Insurance Agents of Indiana. The objective
of this group is to support the perpetuation of the
American Agency System by fostering the professional
development of young agents within The Independent
Agency System.
Indiana YAC strives to provide the
highest quality educational and networking opportunities
for its members and associate members through its events
and activities. These activities include an annual
conference, bowling tournament, golf outing, various
events at the annual IIAI State Convention and numerous
others throughout the year.
What Does YAC Do?
Network statewide and nationwide with other insurance
professionals.
- Find new opportunities in work and leadership.
- Gain new knowledge in the insurance industry.
- Participate in these subcommittees: Steering,
Membership, Conference, Communications, and
Legislative Advisory Committee.
- Develop strategic planning, personal growth, and
leadership skills.
- Demonstrate your skills by completing key
projects and programs.
- Set policy standards for Indiana YAC and the
IIAI.
National Awards
of Recognition Received
Indiana YAC has received numerous
awards of excellence from the Independent Insurance
Agents and Brokers of America since 2000.
Our committee has received eleven total awards
during that time, more than any other state.
These awards recognize outstanding achievement in
a number of areas regarding young agent committee
activities.

indeed one of the top YAC groups in the United States.

Who is Involved in
Indiana YAC?
Indiana YAC has members from independent agencies
(both producers and CSRs); independent agency carriers;
as well as managing general agents and brokers.
Who Can Be a Member of
Indiana YAC?
Membership in the Indiana Young
Agents Committee is open to all Independent Insurance
Agents of Indiana member agencies and associate member
companies, meaning that an agency must be a member of
the IIAI or a company must be an associate member of the
IIAI.
There are three separate categories
of Indiana YAC members:
- Voting Member
- a licensed agent working for any IIAI member
agency who is age 41 or under
- - OR - a licensed agent who has been working
as an agent for fewer than six (6) years – no
age restriction
- Associate Member
- any IIAI licensed agent member or IIAI
Associate Member insurance company employee (no
age restriction)
- Charter Member
- any licensed agent working for an IIAI
member who is over the age of 41 (Charter
Members have no voting rights, nor may they
serve on YAC Committees)
How Can I Join Indiana
YAC?
Simply complete the
member application form and forward the annual $25
membership fee to the Indiana Young Agents Committee and
you will be signed up.
